Tasmin Hansmann is an author, poet, and environmentalist who lives on the Azores Archipelago. She has a deep passion for books and nature, and an endless curiosity about science and history. When writing, she is always accompanied by one of her beloved cats. She writes poetry, fiction, fantasy and sci-fi.

Curious – Creative – Connected
Tasmin Hansmann is an author, storyteller and poet. Born in Munich, she has been living on Pico Island amidst the Azores Archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean for many years.
Her published works include the Island Elements Poetry Collection Series, starting with her debut „The Anatomy of Waves“ (2021), as well as the novella Welcome Home Dear Soul (2022). She is writing a memoir, contemporary novels and fantasy and sci-fi books, which she hopes to publish in the future.
She has two cats, Tess and Amora, who are vital part of her life and her creative endeavours and are the unofficial co-authors on all projects.
She has a degree in cultural anthropology and ancient history with archaeology from the LMU Munich and continues her education online with courses on creative writing, environmental science, and more. She is passionate about nature, the climate and social justice and started the Climathon.
She has a never-ending curiosity that leads her from astronomy to the mycelium, from ancient cultures to dragon lore, and from volcanoes to growing and cooking all kinds of food.
She is radically against AI and for social and environmental justice, as well as pro joy, especially in these dark times.
Her preferred pronouns are she/her, but can be approached as they/them as well. She identifies as queer.
